STRIPES Improving Operations
STRIPES received another big donation this week to improve the quality of service for students. At the beginning of the semester, STRIPES implemented a paperless system to help track ride information. Previously, STRIPES had kept track of all the information on a white board. STRIPES was able to adopt a new computer program developed by a sister program, CARPOOL, which has proven very helpful in managing rides each night.
To replace the Vehicle Status white boards that previously displayed ride information, STRIPES purchased and mounted a new 42" LCD TV at headquarters. STRIPES would like to thank MEMCO Barge of Chesterfield, Missouri for their generous donation to purchase the LCD for use as a status board. With the new digital status board, STRIPES will be able to dispatch rides much faster, decreasing wait times for patrons, and ultimately making Columbia's streets safer.
