STRIPES Goes High-Tech
STRIPES will have some extra help in getting MU students home safely this coming weekend. Thanks to a generous donation from the Parents Development Council, STRIPES purchased its first GPS system to help volunteers more efficiently navigate the streets of Columbia.
The Garmin GPS unit is the first of many units that will outfit STRIPES' entire fleet each weekend. STRIPES will be testing the unit for the rest of the semester and purchasing the remainder of its units in the Spring Semester.
The GPS unit serves a dual purpose; to expediate rides, thus better serving the Tiger community AND to encourage students who might not be familiar with Columbia's streets to volunteer.
